The Richmond real estate market is changing fast.
You should do your research online and work with an experienced local Realtor. There is no cost to you when buying a home - the real estate commission is included in the selling price when a home is listed for sale on the MLS system. You can view homes listed on the MLS system here.. Many home buyers prefer to buy their homes in the west Richmond neighborhoods like Granville, Terra Nova and Riverdale.
Whether you are buying or selling, your local Realtor can guide you through the process of buying or selling your home.
Finding your ideal home can be very challenging. You should find out how much you can afford - your bank or a mortgage broker will be able to advise you on the mortgage you can be approved.

Richmond detached homes: single family homes
The shortage of large land parcel for single family development has resulted in many old detached or single family homes in established Richmond neighborhoods being torn down, and replaced by new homes that are much larger.
In prime West Richmond neighborhoods, old detached homes with large lots had gained in values from $300,000 in early 2000 to over $700,000. These old detached homes with lot size over 8,000 are now selling at a premium, and many such properties were reported to be sold at $800,000 to $950,000.
